I always thought the misspelling in the poster ironic. The Official IRA’s youth wing took over a school to demand that Catholic and Protestant children be taught together. It was the first time I’d seen anyone campaign for integrated education. Most people at the time wouldn’t have known what it was about. Only a television reporter, the young Jeremy Paxman, and myself, got the story.
