FAMILY AT FUNERAL (DECEMBER 1986)

A UDA gang beat him with pool cues in a bar in Lisburn. Charges against several men were dropped. None of the dozen or so people in the pub at the time provided any evidence. Among those at the thirty-year-old Catholic’s funeral was his wife and his mother — an almost overhwleming image of a family’s grief.
